Garland Police Association is set to volunteer at the North Texas Food Bank on August 3rd 2013, from 1:00pm-3:30pm. THE NTFB is located at 4500 S Cockrell Hill Rd, Dallas, TX (214) 330-1396. We have 90 spots available to us. We will be putting together backpacks for children to take home from school on Friday afternoon’s. For many children lunch on Friday at school is their last meal until school provided breakfast on Monday morning. Regardless of your opinion on parents not working or choosing not to or many other reasons, the children don’t have a choice. 11,000 backpack’s go home every single Friday across Dallas County, including Garland. Please send me an email if you will be attending on that date and how many will be with you. Children must be over age of 10 to volunteer.
