Photo: PMO Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned home Monday after an eight-day official visit to the US to attend the 68th session of the UN General Assembly. A regular flight of Emirates Airlines carrying the prime minister and her entourage touched the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at about 5:30pm. Cabinet members, civil and military high officials and diplomats received her at the VVIP terminal of the airport. Ruling Awami League accorded a reception to the premier at the airport for receiving the International Organisation for South-South Cooperation (IOSSC) award. Hundreds of leaders and activists of AL and its associate organisations took position on both sides of the road from the airport to the prime minister’s official residence Gono Bhaban to greet her. Hasina addressed the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 27 and attended several high-level side events and bilateral talks. The prime minister also held meetings with her Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
