PMR English Writing Tip: Report Writing Reports are written using mostly SIMPLE PAST TENSE. Pay attention to the format. Sample Question: National Day Celebration in Our School Step 1. Write the TITLE of the report Step 2. Paragraph 1: INTRODUCTION • What was the event? • When was it held? • Who organized the event? • Who were invited? Step 3. Paragraph 2, 3, 4, 5: BODY • Write the sequence of the events • One picture - one paragraph. Elaborate on the points. • Use sequence connectors Include the following points: • Who were involved? • What happened? • Where & When it happened • Feelings of the people involved? • Describe the place / environment / weather using suitable adjectives (if relevant) Step 4.
