POETS IN THE PARLOR November 9, 2014 Jim Moore Vachel Lindsay Home 2 p.m. Jim Moore is the author of eight collections of poetry, including Invisible Strings, Lightning at Dinner, The Freedom of History, and The Long Experience of Love, and his forthcoming career retrospective, Underground: New and Selected Poems, which assembles much of the best from Moore’s previous collections along with an exciting group of new poems. Moore has received numerous awards and fellowships from the Bush Foundation, The Loft, the McKnight Foundation, and the Minnesota State Arts Board. He teaches at Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and at The Colorado College in Colorado Springs, as well as online through the University of Minnesota Split Rock Arts Program. He is married to the photographer JoAnn Verburg. NOTE: Jim Moore is also the guest speaker at this years VLA Annual Meeting, Saturday, November 8 at Cafe Moxo, 6-8, $15, able to pay at the door.
