POLAND: For more than 50 days now, Polish peasants are blocking the installation of Chevron in Zurawlow (Poland). Chevron claims to have all the permits needed to carry out its projects in order to explore and exploit shale gas. According to local residents, permission to seismic work ended at December 6, 2013, while permission to drill was canceled in June 2012. A few months earlier, Chevron had temporarily given up its project, after a very strong local mobilization (cf. the documentary Drill baby drill).
