**POLICE** are appealing for public assistance to find the parents or carer of a child found in the Central Coast on Sunday. Police were contacted after the girl was discovered wandering along Springfield Road, Springfield, between Bushland and Dolly avenues about 10am. Police have received no reports about a missing child. The girl is described as about three years old, of Caucasian appearance, with shoulder-length blonde hair, green eyes and pierced ears. She is wearing a blue-green long-sleeved t-shirt with a logo saying ‘CUTE’ on the front, with pink three-quarter-length pants, and pink slip-on shoes. The girl has told police her name is Nikki and that she attends pre-school. Police are appealing for anyone who may know the child, or has information about her parents of carers, to contact Gosford Police or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
