PONDERING PASTOR In this season of Christ’s Passion - his suffering, death and resurrection - we are called to heighten our awareness of what it means to follow Jesus. The youth are advancing a challenge for us to join millions who are raising funds with hearts like Christ to purchase mosquito nets to help shield people from this infectious disease, Malaria, borne by mosquitoes. Please help the youth succeed in their campaign. I also want you to know we are blessed as a church tradition to be open to worshiping with brothers and sisters of other worship traditions. To that end we will join this year with Trinity Episcopal Church for our annual observance of Maundy Thursday. Their congregation, led by Vicar Roxane Gwyn, will come to our facility to join us for a potluck meal, featuring parts of the ancient Passover Seder, as well as worship with us in the sanctuary with Holy Communion (called Eucharist in their tradition), the Washing of Feet, and the Stripping of the Altar. It will prove to be a meaningful evening for both Lutherans and Episcopalians to observe together as brothers and sisters in Christ. Come and honor our Lord. And finally, an advance notice to reserve the date: Affirmation of Baptism (Confirmation) will be celebrated June 8th during our Pentecost worship at 9:30 a.m. Peace, Pastor Jeffrey Ingold
