PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles police are seeking a suspect in an armed robbery that took place today in the area of Olympic Medical Center. At about 2:15 p.m. a white male in his 30s displayed a handgun at Papa Murphy’s Take and Bake Pizza at 1405 E. Front St. and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the business before he fled west on Front Street, said Brian Smith, deputy chief of police. The suspect has a husky build and was wearing dark pants and a gray jacket with multiple logos on it, Smith said. A more detailed description is expected to be available soon, he said. Smith said that Port Angeles police, along with Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies, State Patrol, U.S. Border Patrol and Elwha Police, have created a containment area around the scene and initiated a search using a police dog. People should expect to see an increased police presence in the area, he said.
