POSH XANADU, the first of a new generation of DP3 Semisubmersible Accommodation Vessels (SSAV) EIDE FLEX DESIGN for PACC Offshore Services Holdings Limited (POSH), was delivered to Singapore on December 22, 2014, directly embarking on her maiden contract in Brazil with Petrobras for a firm one year charter. Her sister vessel, POSH ARCADIA, is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2015. POSH XANADU and POSH ARCADIA, are both classed by DNV. The DNV Comfort Class V(2) C(3) certification means low levels of vibration and noise and a controlled climate. The ships feature a high accommodation capacity of 750 POB, deck area of 1,800m2, large client workshops, two sizeable cranes and a high sailing speed. Station keeping is provided by a Kongsberg DP3 system with more than 20,800kW of thrust force for holding position. With the optimum motion characteristics of a semisubmersible, it is able to maintain a high connection uptime and passenger comfort. The vessel is designed to minimize her environmental footprint and attained the CLEAN notation. She also offers amenities such as TV rooms, lounges, gyms, internet cafes, phone booths, a cinema, hospital, client offices and meeting rooms. Both POSH XANADU and POSH ARCADIA are equipped with helidecks large enough for the most commonly used helicopters in the industry. Safe transfer is available to workers via a 38.5m telescopic gangway. Rig POB can be monitored using the bespoke personnel tracking system from EPIC.Eide Marine Solutions is the company within the Eide Group which is developing the “Eide Flex Design”.
