POWER IN YOUR MOUTH Matthew 12:34-37 – “You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgement for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned. Jesus explained the connection between the mouth and the heart. In summary: It does not take long to realise that Jesus believes that what you say is important. What you say can justify you or condemn you (Matthew 12:37). Your words can justify or condemn you; your words can free you or put you in trouble. What are your words doing today? When your words are according to the Truth of God’s Word, you will hear yourself and God will hear you. But when your words are not according to the truth of God’s Word, you will hear yourself but God will not hear you. Your words will remain on your lips and will be idle, meaningless and oftentimes, destructive. There is power in your mouth - the power to save, heal, deliver, protect, just name it – it is in your mouth. The belief in your heart is released by faith out of your mouth. You can only realise this power when the belief in your heart is released by faith.
