About the Opportunity PNG Power has a once in life time opportunity for a General Manager - Customer Service to join their Executive Management team based in Port Moresby, PNG. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of PPLs customer service delivery. This will include ensuring that customer expectations are met and exceeded with delivery of PPLs products and services. This is a key, strategic role and you will be presented with challenges as youre tasked with creating a culture of customer service excellence across all levels of PPL. Youll manage a team of 10 direct reports and have responsibility for all retail customer service branches covering the 22 Provinces of Papua New Guinea. More specifically, some of your main responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to): Defining and continuously improving service processes; Monitoring and reviewing service performance; Ensuring the effectiveness of the Customer Service Call Centre; Removing barriers to face-to-face interaction between PPL customers and retail staff; Analysing technical faults and dispatching personnel to address faults; Ensuring that technical services, including the installation and maintenance of meters, are performed to a very high standard; Managing the billing and credit management functions of PPL; and Establishing and maintaining a customer management system. If youre a proven Executive Leader/Senior Manager with a strong Customer Service background in Telecommunications or Energy, this is a golden opportunity to drive a Customer Service Transformation project within a large State Owned Enterprise! To be considered, youll have a tertiary qualifications in Business or Finance from a reputable institution along with and a CPA qualification. Youll be responsible for the overall management of PNG Powers Customer Service delivery so extensive strategic leadership skills, excellence in public relations and stakeholder engagement and a skilled communicator are essential and key to your success in this pivotal role. Youll have a demonstrated track record of process improvement and change management including addressing inadequate service standards and creating a culture of customer service focus and performance. As an experienced senior manager who has cross managed, preferably within a large organisation with a dispersed employee spread, youll appreciate the challenges this presents and rise to meet them head on. Youll be able to identify, justify and recommend recruitment and dismissal of direct report staff whilst managing performance issues and implementing remedial actions. PNG Power are looking for a strategic leader who is results oriented and customer focused. Ideally, youll have strong experience within Papua New Guinea either as an expat or as a National but this is not necessary to be considered. More important will be your ability to drive organisational change, introduce new concepts and methods of working and deliver results for this large, well known energy provider.
