PRAYER GUIDE JULY 15 – READ ISAIAH 9:8-13. Here is the picture – the people have need, they are in the midst of struggle, failure, hardship. But their solution is ‘we got this.’ ‘We can handle this. We can fix this on our own.’ So they devise plans, put together strategies, pool resources – and never consult, appeal to, or recognize their need for God. They are ‘asserting in pride and arrogance of heart.’ This is fundamentally ‘normal’ human behavior. And it is not pleasing to God and it will not receive his blessing. Have any of that in you? Review your life – your work, your relational world, your plans, future hopes and dreams. Are they, by design, intricately tied to God, His ways, His heart and His desires? If not what do you need to do to get them there? Also pray for Four Mile as we look ahead, plan on the development of God’s work in Midland, seek to build up our community of Christ followers and expand His kingdom – pray that it is every inch along the way, every decision and every action soaked and surrendered to God in prayer and practice.
