Weve been hard at work—all of us—building a new farm and food system, based on family farms, that brings healthy food to farmers markets, schools, and neighborhoods that need it most. A values-based system that cares for our natural resources, grows local economies, and strengthens our communities. But the progress weve made to create a better farm and food system could be lost, because the Food and Drug Administration wants to impose new food safety regulations that threaten to put safe family farmers out of business while compromising on-farm conservation efforts and the supply of fresh, local food in our communities. We all want safe food, but these rules threaten the very people and practices that bring us the safe food we want. Tell FDA that this is unacceptable. Sign our petition at farmaid.org/food-safety
