PRAYER: God, our refuge and our fortress in whom we trust (Psalm 91:21), please bring your healing presence and compassionate comfort to the families of Officer Liu and Offer Ramos, the families of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, and all those who have lost family to senseless violence this year. Give us courage and creativity to organize for justice in compassionate and collaborative ways for a more just, safe and sustainable New York City. During this Hanukkah season, I pray that God will ignite a prophetic fire in each and every heart, so together we can bear bold witness to the light and love God’s shalom. In your Holy Name, we pray.
