PREDATOR UPDATES Question. Who plans to run the predator class - TopicsExpress

PREDATOR UPDATES Question. Who plans to run the predator class this coming year? There have been a lot of questions raised about this. Changing exhaust, clutch, carb etc... We are going to promote this class again this year. It will be included in the 6 race points series as well. We are going to go back with the same rules as last year other than weight. The min weight for this class is 360lb. Unlike most tracks, we are going to allow an open gear rule. A shoe/drum style clutch must be used. The fuel must be 87 octane pump gas (fuel will be tested in all classes). Please note. All predators that ran last year My tech man will be at the race track for the first two open practice days to seal these engines. Whether you had yours sealed last year or not, it must be re-sealed to run this season. This service will be free of charge. There will be a $150 claimer rule implemented. I understand that Harbor Freight has released different generations of this motor. Some folks have expressed concerns about the advantages or disadvantages of the first generation compared to the hemi version, and the different power ranges throughout various rpm. We have looked at this and decided to make this a bring all class for now. Hence, one of the reasons we have decided to go with the open gear rule. Once we get into this and see how it goes, this may be brought up for reevaluation. For now, however, this is how it will stand. All new additions to the predator class Harbor Freight sells a 6.5 HP (212cc) OHV predator engine for roughly $100-$120. I believe there is a coupon you can use to get it even cheaper. You can remove the governor Everything else on the motor MUST BE STOCK.. Including muffler, carb, air filter, etc. You can add fuel pump, top plate, and chain guard. Drum/shoe style clutch Open gear rule Please let me know if you guys have any questions concerning this. I personally really enjoy this class and want to see it continue to grow!!!
