Martin Demichelis - Manchester City Games: 27 Mins: 2430 Defence: 400 Attack: 138 Poss: 289 Total: 827 Many were left scratching their heads as to why Manuel Pellegrini continued to persist with the big Argentine as a series of poor performances threatened to derail the sides title bid before it could really get started. However, as the campaign wore on he became a colossus alongside Vincent Kompany - and even outperformed him. 9. Branislav Ivanovic - Chelsea Games: 36 Mins: 3179 Defence: 378 Attack: 237 Poss: 214 Total: 829 The Serbian hard man has had another impressive season for the Blues this season as his versatility makes his virtually indispensable to the Blues cause. His attacking numbers are so high because of his forays forward when at right- back, while he frequently makes himself a target in front of goal from set pieces when playing through the middle. 8. Sylvain Distin - Everton Games: 33 Mins: 2925 Defence: 658 Attack: 49 Poss: 174 Total: 880 The veteran just seems to get better with every season as his partnership with Phil Jagielka verges on the telepathic. He is also an excellent mentor for youngster John Stones, who deputised for Jagielka when he sustained an injury. Still a top performer in the top flight, he shows no signs go slowing down just yet. 7.
