The party should therefore jettison superfluous power expectations of the bigger ethnic groups in Nigeria in favor of a practical and sensible political creation capable of jolting the PDP and decimating the very foundation of spurious sentiments on which Jonathan hopes to clinch unto power in 2015, which power he has not deployed in a constructive, discernible manner to add value to Nigeria these six odd years. Make sacrifice, throw up Amaechi as the Presidential candidate of the APC, and win comfortably in 2015. With Jonathans plummeting popularity, with his abysmal performance, and with his widely noted cluelessness, I can bet that he cant even win any contest with Amaechi in the South-South, talk less of other geo-political zones in Nigeria. Amaechi has performed very well as governor of Rivers State and has attained undeniable popularity in national politics. I am afraid that at this moment in time, Amaechis popularity and national acceptance dwarfs that of President Jonathan. Although Amaechi is capable, or even notorious of some inexplicable irascibility sometimes, he has all the time in the world to moderate his weaknesses and become a better person. But that he is charismatic, courageous and compassionate, there is absolutely no question. His pan-Nigerianism too cannot be questioned. The APC should therefore kill once and for all the burgeoning pessimism ( though not reasonably founded) that APC is a northern and western party such as run in the south and east, and PDP and President Jonathan are eternally rattled, strategically out-witted and badly defeated in any electoral contest!
