His infectious use of Tshivenda language sticks to the roots rhythm of his family band – made up of his father’s brothers’ and close family friends. Post’s music crosses boundaries, and builds bridges. In the depths of South Africa’s commercial swamps, Post is what he says he is. “I’m from Venda, but I represent Africa”. For those of you who don’t know, Venda was a ‘homeland’ reserved for Tshivenda speaking people under the old Apartheid regime. That small region on the border of Zimbabwe has become the unofficial home to southern African reggae – P Post Man’s father is Colbert ‘Harley’ Mukwevho – the Lion of which Post is the son. The version of ‘is this love’ on this single is derived from generations of respect for Bob Marley’s music. We release it in the hope that a new generation connects with the love for live music, in front of a live audience, and the anticipation that others will listen to, and overstand, Bob Marley’s message.
