PRESS RELEASE: 19TH AFRICAN SUMMER BASH, PROVIDENCE, RI, JULY 27, 2013 The 19th Annual African Summer Bash will take place on July 27, 2013 at Richardson Park (on Prairie Ave.) in Providence from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. This event is a collaborative effort of the African communities (Nigerian, Ghanaian, Liberian and Pan African Org) of Rhode Island and Oasis International. We invite all other African countries represented in Rhode Island to come and be a part of the planning for this event. We meet every other Saturday at 12 Noon till 2:00 PM. at Oasis office at 600 Broad Street in Providence. Help us make this a fully representative Bash that will spotlight our magnificent cultures. If you own a business, a craftsman of any kind, if you are a community service agency, or have products to sell or show, please contacts us at 421-1252. You will have an audience of about a thousand people, call us today. This year you will be entertained by award winning Cultural Dance groups. TRADITIONAL AFRICAN DRUM by Sidy Maiga and Afrimanding AND New Force Steppers Dancers and other professional dancers and singers. There will be a Health Fair with the Nigerian, Ghanaian and Liberian Nurses Association and the Lifespan Wellness Team providing health screenings. Come out and get your blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol checked for free. Getting these simple screenings can identify a problem allowing for early treatment and prevention of serious health problems. The Summer Bash will provide you the opportunity to find out what’s new in the mortgage market, what services are available at our community Credit Unions that can benefit you, and obtain important information about how to prevent foreclosure and save your home. There will be consumer specialist who will be glad to talk with you.
