PRESS RELEASE Date-29th March 2014 New Delhi, 29 March.- Maulana Kalbe Jawad has expressed his dissatisfaction on Smt Sonia Gandhi’s non serious approach towards the Karbala Jorbagh issue. He along with Maulana Syed Ali Taqvi, Imam Shia Jama Masjid Delhi, office bearers of Anjuman e Haidari and Senior Advocate Mehmood Pracha met Smt. Gandhi and discussed the legal issues related to the waqf land grabbing in Jor Bagh area. He was addressing a press conference after the high profile meeting and revealed the insincere behavior of Smt. Sonia Gandhi who told the delegation that Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde is touring in his constituency. She promised to discuss the issue with Mr. Shinde without giving any timeline for the final resolution of the issue. Maulana Kalbe Jawad, spearheading the Save Karbala Movement, has also criticized Delhi Police for misleading judiciary for extracting orders to justify their intended harsh action against the peaceful devotees on 31st March 2014, Monday next. He alleged that Delhi Police is playing hand in gloves, under the direction from corrupt Congress leader Ahmed Patel, to shield the illegal business activities at the holy Karbala. Addressing a hurriedly called Press Conference, Maulana Kalbe Jawad who is also the General Secretary of Majlis Ulema-e-Hind, a body of clerics from different parts of the country, said that Delhi Police had, on 10th March intentionally stopped the devotees at UP border to choke the traffic creating hardship to the people and vanish their support to the movement. He further said that Delhi Police has extracted a Delhi High Court order banning protest at the Karbala site. The office bearers of Anjuman-e-Haideri had clearly informed the government agencies of their program details. In fact no protest demonstration is scheduled for 31st march, instead there would a Majlis, a religious congregation at Karbala ground on that day. He strongly condemned the way the government has been delaying the implementation of Delhi High court orders regarding Karbala Jor bagh and construction of boundary walls of Dargah Shahe Mardan. He also alleged Ahmed Patel for misleading Smt. Sonia Gandhi and the government on the issue because of his vested interests as partner in illegal business being run on holy land of Karbala. He also said that Mr. Patel is influencing the government machinery in favor of illegal Waqf land grabbers. It is to recall that Maulana Kalbe Jawad, on 24thMarch (Monday) offered court arrest along with over a thousand of his supporters while trying to enter Smt. Sonia Gandhi constituency Rai Bareli. His entourage was heading to Smt. Sonia Gandhi election office to submit a memorandum demanding immediate arrest of her political advisor Ahmed Patel for patronizing the Waqf land grabbers of Karbala, Jor bagh in New Delhi. While reached close to Rae Bareli, Maulana Kalbe Jawad entourage was stopped by police contingent including high ranking officials. Followers of Maulana Kalbe Jawad, while pressing their demand to allow into the city, blocked the traffic on the Lucknow-Rae Bareli highway for some time. Approximately 50 thousand people from Uttar Pradesh were stopped, on 10th March, from entering the capital by Ahmed Patel through his political influence in the government machinery. He also tried that the people associated with “Save Karbala Movement” should not reach AICC headquarters at Akbar Road to meet Smt. Sonia Gandhi. This caused severe traffic jams throughout most of the capital affecting the normal life of several million people. Bahadur Abbas Naqvi, General Secretary of Anjuman-e-Haideri, told the media persons that Mrs. Sonia Gandhi had herself intervened in the matter and had given directive for taking appropriate legal action against the culprits , but Mr. Patels influence has been prevailing till now and no action has been taken against the culprits including. He said that despite Smt. Sonia Gandhi’s instructions to get the Karbala issue resolved Mr. Patel has been hand in gloves in supporting the illegal activities at the Waqf land.
