PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Erick Worrell [email protected] 405.226.1086 okcadclub Ruthless Creativity and Tours of Agencies at OKC Ad Club’s Career Day Students get look at the advertising industry from local pros and a special speaker Oklahoma City, OK, October 29, 2014– The Oklahoma City Ad Club is offering tours of five of the largest area agencies, a speaker luncheon, and pro panel at this year’s Career Day. It’s on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Oklahoma History Center. Students and professionals will hear from Scott McAfee of Sanders\Wingo Advertising in Austin about “Ruthless Creativity.” Four students will also receive a $2,000 scholarship from the club. Buses will take students on tours to Ackerman McQueen, STAPLEGUN, Insight Creative Group, Third Degree, and VI Marketing & Branding. After the tours, a luncheon offers further networking and the opportunity to hear from a major speaker. They will then present scholarships—including the inaugural Jeanie Ruedy Commercial Art/Graphic Design Scholarship. Finally, a panel of professionals in a variety of disciplines from various agencies across the state will be answering student questions. The Oklahoma City Ad Club was founded in 1907 and is the oldest, continuously active business organization in Oklahoma City. The club provides continuing education and connectivity for the Oklahoma City advertising community through monthly meetings, programs, and new media channels. They also put on the annual American Advertising Awards (ADDYs) which celebrate advertising excellence from Oklahoma City agencies. # # #
