PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE JIM COSTELLO APPOINTED TO THE COUNCIL OF THE CANADIAN EDUCATION ASSOCIATION (CEA) Lambton Kent District School Board’s Director of Education brings a wealth of leadership experience to this pan-Canadian advisory council for countrywide issues and trends in public education. TORONTO – OCT 30, 2014 – Jim Costello was appointed to the CEA Council at its Annual General Meeting on October 24th in Toronto. Jim has been an educator for 29 years, 19 of which have been in school and board administration as Vice-Principal, Principal, Superintendent and Director of Education. He sits on the executive of the Ontario Council of Directors of Education as well as on advisory committees to the Deputy Minister in the areas of international education and school boards/public health unit partnerships. Jim is also a member of Education Research and Development & Innovation (ERDI) and as a Director’s representative on the Ontario Federation of Schools Athletic Association. “With his longstanding leadership in various education decision-making committees in Ontario, Jim will provide an invaluable perspective to our Council table,” says CEA Chair Roger Paul. CEA Council Members are drawn from all regions of the country and interests in education including provincial and territorial governments and at least 25 per cent are French-speaking.
