PRESS RELEASE For Immediate Release Locally owned and operated Lookout Mountain Vacation Rentals (a Tennessee-licensed vacation lodging service) announces: A NEW VACATION RENTAL CABIN ON THE TENNESSEE RIVER The infamous Pot House! The Tennessee River Gorge Trust (TRGT) has recently contracted Lookout Mountain Vacation Rentals as rental managers for the Pot Point Cabin. This historic cabin in its scenic landscape will now be available for overnight stays. Visitors and families from all over are welcome to rent and enjoy this piece of Tennessee River Gorge history. Hannah Shadrick, TRGT Business and Creative Director, said about the transition, “I’m happy to turn over the cabin to Christina and Christian’s very capable hands. Together we are breathing a new life into this property.” Previously the cabin has been used primarily for events and meetings. Now, it will be a lovely getaway that sleeps a group of up to eight. TRGT’s mission is to preserve the Tennessee River Gorge as a healthy and productive resource through land protection, education, community engagement, and good land stewardship practices. Their hope is to maximize the use of this resource and put money back into the Trust. “By staying at the Pot Point Cabin, you are not only gaining memorable experiences, but your rental is also supporting further land conservation in the Gorge,” says Hannah. “You are helping to protect the land you are staying on and more.” Pot Point Cabin is located on over 400 acres of protected natural lands on the banks of the Tennessee River. It was originally built in 1835 from hand-hewn logs and planks reclaimed from flat boats wrecked on the “Boiling Pot” rapid on the Tennessee River. In 1993, renovations were made to the original cabin that included a great room with floor-to-ceiling windows which provide a scenic view of the Tennessee River. There are two bedrooms, which sleep up to eight, two bathrooms including a downstairs wheelchair-accessible bathroom, and a small, but serviceable kitchen. There are also two decks overlooking the river. Pot Point Cabin is only 12 miles from downtown Chattanooga. For more information, photos, and booking go to cabinsofchattanooga or call 657-777-2899.
