PRESS RELEASE Hon. James Fletcher to Deliver Feature Address at Regional Launch of the Caribbean Regional Communications Infrastructure Programme (CARCIP) Saint Lucia’s Minister for the Public Service, Sustainable Development, Energy, Science and Technology, Hon. James Fletcher, has been invited to deliver the Feature Address at the regional launch of the World Bank-funded Caribbean Regional Communications Infrastructure Programme (CARCIP) in Grenada on Wednesday 26th June, 2013. The theme of the launch is “Addressing Caribbean Development Challenges through Regional ICT Connectivity”. Saint Lucia had its own launch of CARCIP on 17th April, 2013 at the Soufriere Community Access Centre. The objective of CARCIP is to increase access to regional broadband networks and advance the development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and ICT-enabled services. In addition to the Feature Address by Hon. James Fletcher, the regional launch of CARCIP is also expected to feature short addresses by the Ministers for Technology from Jamaica, Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and by representatives of the World Bank, the Caribbean Telecommunications Union and ECTEL.
