PRESS RELEASE: OFFICE OF THE PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER, NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA. JUSTICE OKON ABANG OF THE FEDERAL HIGH COURT, LAGOS, TODAY, 24TH MARCH, 2014, STRUCK OUT A SUIT INSTITUTED AGAINST COMRADE ABDULLAHI ABDUMAJEED AND RESTRAINING HIS NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OF THE NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA, NYCN TO FUNCTION AS ELECTED LEADERS OF THE APEX YOUTH BODY IN NIGERIA. It was a celebration galore today at the Federal High Court, Lagos, today, 24th March, 2014 when the presiding judge, Justice Okon Abang struck out the case instituted by Mr Anyebe Agbo, restraining Comr Abdullahi Abdulmajeed and his elected executives from parading themselves as the national executive council of the National Youth Council of Nigeria. The plaintiff, Mr Anyebe Agbo, who spoke to the Judge through his Lawyer, Barr. Nnamdi Nweke, pleaded with the Judge to withdraw the case having realized that he cannot continue to deceive the court and the entire Nigeria youths considering the manner he supported Henry Nwabueze to lay claim to the leadership of the council. He informed the court that no election was held in Akure and Makurdi and he instituted his legal actions in error against Nigerian Youths and sincerely, by all constitutional provisions, only the Minna Congress met the conditions as prescribed by the constitution of the Council with the blessing of the Board of Trustees and all the organs of the Council. He also said that Henry Nwabueze’s claim to the presidency of the Council was based on deceit and fraud as no election was conducted in Akura and Makurdi and by this court ruling, Comr Abdullahi Abdulmajeed remains the only truly elected president of the National Youth Council of Nigeria. We hereby congratulate the entire Nigerian Youths for their understanding and patient throughout this period of leadership fraud, misinformation and dislocation in the leadership of Comr Abdullahi Abdumajeed led National Executive Council. We are enjoining every Nigerian to note that the victory is for Nigerian Youths and not just for Comr. Abdullahi Abdumajeed and his National Executive Council Members even as we salute the courage of Mr Anyebe Agbo on his patriotic step in telling the world the simple truth that no election took place in Akure and Makurdi. The Judiciary will forever remain the last hope of the common man, we congratulate them for their courage in seeing reasons to struck out the matter for the benefit of the entire Nigeria Youths. We wish to use this medium to call on the Nigeria Police Force, State Security Service and other law enforcement agencies to arrest anybody parading his or self as president of the National Youth Council of Nigeria against the law and will of the entire Youths in Nigeria . Thank You. Sign: Chris C. Ibe, National Public Relations Officer, National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN
