PRESS RELEASE OGD DOES NOT MAKE FRIVOLOUS STATEMENTS The public statement by Ogun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Yusuph Olaniyonu, refers: In the Statement, Mr Olaniyonu accused the immediate past Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, of making frivolous statements on the dismal performance of the Governor Amosun government. The question is: which of the following recent public statement by Otunba Daniel is frivolous? 1. That the road projects embarked upon by the Amosun governments are mostly misplaced priorities. 2. That the costs of the road projects are grossly inflated and beyond all known parameters of public work costing. 3. That the Amosun Government should explain to our people why it has failed to prosecute those arrested and detained in connection with the murder of Otunba Dipo Dina. 4. That the Amosun government should explain the circumstances surrounding the loss to Lagos state of the $8 billion Refinery project by the Dangote group earlier slated for Ogun Waterside LG. How does the $200 million investment by Procter and Gamble compensate for this huge loss caused by the negative disposition of the Amosun government? Or would the government claim ignorant that the land on which the factory of the Procter and Gamble is being built was allocated to it by the OGD government? And as it is common knowledge, the Dangote Cement factory commissioned shortly after the inception of the Amosun government was already being test-run even before OGD left office as Governor. 5. That Local Government administration has been paralyzed in Ogun State as virtually all the local governments in the state have nothing significant to show as developmental projects in the 37 months of the Amosun regime. The Amosun government should kindly tell our people, in precisely manner, the frivolity in the posers raised above by Otunba Gbenga Daniel. Otunba Daniel is a credible man of few words. Responding to him should be on issues raised and not the abuses and lies that the sinking Amosun government peddles all around. Signed: Sina Kawonise, Immediate Past Commissioner for Information And Orientation, Ogun State.
