PRESS RELEASE TO ALL DIE HARD MANCHESTER UNITED FANS- I want to let you know one thing – it’s the most interesting phase in your life as a Manchester United fan. Of course, being United fans, you’ve always been at an arm’s length of creating history, and so much so that you’ve almost taken it for granted. But this phase in your life is unlike that you have ever witnessed. The winds of change are blowing hard over your safe and sound castle at the footballing summit. And it’s a scary prospect, change. Especially when you have to come out of your comfort zone of being safe and happy as you were before and even more so, when you don’t know what lies ahead with the change. But there is one thing for sure that comes with the change – the thrill. The thrill of walking on an unknown path that you have never traveled before, and in the process, making you realize a whole new dimension of your personality that you had absolutely no clue about. It can be good. It can be bad. It’s unpredictable. And it’s in this unpredictability wherein lies the thrill, the drama, the excitement. You, as Manchester United fan, are right amidst the clouds of this unpredictability. And there are only two ways you can ride this storm. One – bask in the glory of your past and fail to accept the current change, and eventually get blown away by it. Or two – fight with it like a true United fan with patience, and eventually, as always, sail your ship with these winds of change. There’s no harm in admitting the obvious and accepting the fact like an honest fan that Manchester United are no longer the force without Sir Alex Ferguson that they used to be – they aren’t able to attract top players, nowhere playing as they should be, and have lost that air of invincibility about them. And that’s okay. United have been here before. They are facing even tougher opponents who have grown stronger over the summer, and they themselves seem to be the most vulnerable in a long time. And that too is okay. United have been here before as well. They are facing even tougher opponents who have grown stronger over the summer, and they themselves seem to be the most vulnerable in a long time. And that too is okay. United have been here before as well. But every such time in the past, they’ve come out of it with their sheer perseverance, and most of all, your patient support. And if there ever was a time when they really needed your support again, it is now. Patience – that’s not an answer that every club reaches for. But that’s how the United juggernaut rolls. And it rolls pretty well. It’s not the end of Manchester United’s world. They’ve been here before, remember? United are the Champions of England, now headed by a man, David Moyes, who guarantees them continuity and patience just like his predecessor did. And they have not become a bad team overnight. They boast of some world class players in the form of Rooney, Van Persie, Carrick, De Gea, Vidic, who haven’t lost even a bit of their appetite for success. Add to that , the luminous little lights blinking madly in the background – Januzaj, Zaha, Powell, Lingard, Fabio, Rafael, Jones – and you have a bunch of amazingly talented players who have what it takes to climb the summit and build a castle there. It may not be this season, it might not even be the next season or the season after that, but when it does happen, that will be the only thing that everyone would remember. And please, don’t you dare come back then if you plan to leave now. So, till then, all you United fans, support them through this period of uncertainty, unpredictability, excitement, drama, and most of all, this period of change. Your club has given you a lot of reasons to smile when you were simply down and out. It’s time for a payback!
