PRESS RELEASE: TTelevisionPost Arrives... Mumbai: Come October 7, the online media sector will witness the launch of yet another trade media magazine to capture the ever-changing media landscape of the Indian television industry. Christened TelevisionPost, the new entity is the product of a joint collaboration between veteran media journalist Sibabrata Das and Himanshu Dhoreliya, an expert in broadcasting and distribution. Together they bring a total experience of 30 years to this new venture. While Das comes with 15 years of learning and experience in journalism within the business of the Indian media sector, Dhoreliya comes with over 15 years of experience in broadcasting and distribution space. Interestingly, TelevisionPost forays into the market at a time when the broadcast industry is going through a true metamorphosis. Digitisation is initiating the advent of a new dawn. While the nails are being banged into the coffin for analogue cable TV, the seeds of change are being sown for helping television and broadcast-carriage companies take flight. The consumer sits at the centre of this revolution, looking forward to the launch of more TV channels and value-added services. TelevisionPost promises to present news, opinions and analysis in great depth and with utmost clarity. It will chronicle the industry’s growth in these fertile times. Sibabrata Das, co-founder and Editor-in-Chief, TelevisionPost said, “These are exciting times for the whole M&E industry and there could not be a better time to launch. There is a clear need gap when it comes to content and understanding of the Indian media industry. We intend to fill that up through comprehensive and holistic reporting on the industry with a special focus on research.” Himanshu Dhoreliya, co-founder and chief executive officer, TelevisionPost commented: “Our goal from the start is to create a different news offering, which will be global and journalistically serious. We will write and deal with the cutting edge of the industry and offer a host of value additions and specials along with it.” On the point of mushrooming of trade websites, Dhoreliya added, “There is bound to be scepticism. People will ask whether the world really needs yet another news website. What would distinguish Television Post from the others? Well, I personally believe that this is really a question for our readers. If they show up at Television post—and more importantly, keep coming back—then we will know that we are doing something right. I ask the readers to come, log on to TelevisionPost and stay updated.”
