PRESS RELEASE The NH House of Representatives, Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs Committee will hear HB 1622 “AN ACT permitting qualifying patients and registered caregivers to cultivate cannabis for therapeutic use.” On Thursday, January 30 at 10:00AM in room 210-211 of the Legislative Office Building, 33 State Street, Concord, NH. This bill, if passed would allow a very limited amount of cannabis to be grown by seriously ill patients who qualify for the program under the supervision of local health officials. The program will diminish as Alternative Treatment Centers (ATC) come on line but will allow patients who are 30 miles, or more, away from an ATC to grow what little cannabis they need. Included in the bill is a provision that would grant seriously ill patients, with a qualifying condition that has been certified by their provider, immediate protection under the law until such time as the Department of Health and Human Services has the program up and running. Please join me in speaking out for those patients who are running out of time. Thank you, State Representative Donald “Ted” Wright Carroll county District 8 [email protected]
