PRESS RELEASE Women polytechnic college, Srinagar hosts ‘National Workshop on Wildlife Conservation’Participants pledge to ‘Save Hangul’ Srinagar: Wildlife Conservation Fund, an organisation working for conservation of wildlife in the State of J&K in collaboration with Government Polytechnic for Women, Srinagar organized a workshop titled ‘National Workshop on Wildlife Conservation’ here on Wednesday.The event was supported by Sanctuary Asia, India’s leading wildlife magazine, Save Hangul Campaign and Adobe Youth Voices, USA.The principle of the college Mr. Mohammad Shafi Bhat, appreciated the efforts of Wildlife Conservation Fund, and promised all possible support in future as well.The event was moderated by Nadeem Qadri, Environmental Lawyer & Executive Director, Wildlife Conservation Fund.He appreciated the role of the college for facilitating the “National Workshop on Wildlife Conservation”.He welcomed the support rendered by the college to make this event possible.The Theme of the workshop was to launch the national Campaign “LEAVE ME ALONE” and share the challenges our wildlife presently is facing.The Event was chaired by Mr. M.S. Bacha, former regional Wildlife Warden (Kashmir) and Advisory Chairman, Wildlife Conservation Fund, he shared his experience and educated the audience about the serious challenges our wildlife if facing. He also shared the detailed power point presentation on the protection and conservation of wildlife of the state.Mr. Mansoor Nabi Sofi, Wildlife Volunteer shared his wonderful experience on conservation which includes going through a very difficult terrains to collect the information about the wildlife. He stressed about the role of youth in raising awareness among common masses about the importance of Wildlife.The event was attended by about 200 students of the college, who also thanked the organizers for sharing the information with them.The event was managed by Mr. Hakim Mohammad Ilyas, IT Engineer and Syed Tabasum Geelani, HoD, MCT and Junaid Geelani HoD, Electronics.
