PRESS STATEMENT FROM SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS MS. AURJUL WILSON Radio Anguilla on 8th September 2014, carried a news story wherein Mr. Elkins Richardson, following a meeting with the Supervisor of Elections Ms. Aurjul Wilson, when outlining his views in relation to the electoral registration process, made the following observation. According to the sound bite he stated “it was also noted that any person registering for the first time can apply to vote in any district even though he or she does not reside there…” This statement is erroneous. In accordance with the Constitution of Anguilla, a person is required to register in the district where he/she resides, at the qualifying date. To prevent reliance on inaccurate information, members of the public are asked to refer any queries they have about the voter registration process to the Supervisor of Elections or the Registration Officer, Telephone 497-7394 or email:[email protected].
