► PREVIEW: FNSW MSL2: Belmore vs Stanmore A Finals spot is at stake for Belmore United FC against table leaders Stanmore Hawks in the “Community Derby” at Blick Oval on Saturday 24 August 2013, 3pm Belmore were narrowly defeated in the Catch Up mid-week match with Fairfield City going down 3-2 at Garside Park. On the other hand Stanmore now head Fairfield by three points, but fifth-placed Condors are exposed to four teams that can still make the top-five. Hawks coach George Paradisis had mixed feelings about the previous round result. “It was a big win today but I’m not that happy with the way we played; I thought Condors were very good,” he said. “It was always going to be tough after last week’s effort [beating Lions 2-0], but staying on top of a state league competition is very hard. Every game is a war out there because everyone wants to beat us, so we have to dig in harder.” United are in the hunt for a Top 5 spot with a match in hand and have had a good run over the last three matches prior to a narrow loss to Fairfield City Lions in a mid-week catch up match. The Belmore United FC coaching and support staff indicated “we have shown enough to be part of the Top 5 but Stanmore Hawks will be the ultimate test as to whether we get our wish. The FNSW MSL2 competition and the race for a Top 5 spot has made it a difficult competition to judge but we think United will be there if we play our best football” Belmore United attacking line will include one of the League’s leading goal scorers Pablo Cardozo and be backed by Paul Paras – a lethal combination when they have been both fit. A minor premiership chasing Stanmore Hawks will also be alert to a potential upset by Belmore United FC, as rivalry will help lift the match for the fans and supporters. The Community Derby on Saturday at Blick Oval at 3pm will offer FREE admission and three special offers on the last home match such as a free soft drink or bottled water with every hot meal purchased, BUFC Membership available for $10 and a FREE Match Day program. ► RECENT & UPCOMING: FNSW MSL2 Matches Catch Up Match (Home): Belmore United FC 2 def Hurstville FC 1 (Replay for 19 mins due to light failure) TBC August 2013, 8.15pm (1st Grade); 6pm (2nd Grade) @ Blick Oval Catch Up Match (Away): Belmore United FC 2 lost Fairfield City Lions 3 Tuesday 20 August 2013, 8.15pm (1st Grade), 6pm (2nd Grade) @ Garside Park Upcoming: Round 21 (Last Home Match): Belmore United FC vs Stanmore Hawks FC Saturday 24 August 2013, 3pm (1st Grade), 1pm (2nd Grade) @ Blick Oval Upcoming: Round 22 (Away) Last Round: Southern Condors vs Belmore United FC Sun 1 September 2013, 3pm (1st Grade), 1pm (2nd Grade) @ Ernie Smith Reserve ► BELMORE UNITED FC END OF SEASON PRESENTATION Sat 31 Aug 2013,11am - Beaman Park, Flinders Rd, Earlwood Belmore United FC will be presenting Team Season Medals and Awards to all players aged 6-14 and their managers/officials.
