PRINCESS Cut Diamond Buying TIPS! Although there are no universally agreed upon proportions & GIA does not grade princess cut diamonds for cut, here are some loose guidelines to keep in mind. Stick with a length to width ratio of 1.05:1 or less for a square appearance, anything higher will start to look elongated - because the faceting of princess cuts hide inclusions well you can typically go as low as SI2 clarity - there is a wide range for depth & table percentages D 58-75%, T 56-70% (staying in the midrange is good practice) - Fluorescence none to faint - Polish & Symmetry EX, VG or G. These are my personal preferences, a diamond can fall outside of some of these parameters & still take your breath way. To determine what is most pleasing to YOUR eye, there is no substitute to seeing the diamond in person to judge its fire, brilliance & shape appeal. When in doubt, consult with an unbiased expert BEFORE you buy.
