PRIVATE IMPORTER DOING THE WRONG THING VOL.1 While the dodgy dealers are the talk of the town there are also some private importers trying to make some extra cash with wound back vehicles. One of our customers had his car checked, which he just recently bought from a private importer. He thought it was all legit as the seller sent him a copy of the reregistration certificate, yes a COPY- not the watermarked original. Once he received the registration papers from us he realised that the seller is not only selling a tampered vehicle, but he has also tampered with the de-registration certificate and turned a six into a one, effectively wounding back the cars odometer by 50,000 kms on paper as well. View the attachment- the coloured copy is from the seller, the plain black&white is a copy of the original registration certificate we sent to the buyer.We have blanked out the VIN number as we do not want to interfere with any legal proceedings.
