PROBLEM(S) SOLVED……………. Ugh. The things we do to adapt I stopped by the bike shop where we bought the bikes and got a new lock. This one has a combo!! Same brand and strength as the one that required a grinder to remove. (And don’t worry, there’s zero likelihood of me forgetting the combo. I’m using the same 4-digit combo I have been using for most things since I was 17.) They didn’t have these when we bought the bikes and locks originally or I suspect we would have gotten them the first go-round. And, I realize this is oversharing, but in my own defense, there really is logic to why the keys were in a position to be lost in the first place. See the little black key sticking out from the back tire? This is a built-in lock, very common here, but also not all that strong. It take that little key to open it and the little key MUST stay in the lock when the lock is open. SO! As a result, that little troublesome key is the reason all of the keys were not on my main key ring. I had that key, along with the other 2 lock keys on a separate ring and that separate ring is what I lost. I decided it isn’t worth it, since the little built-in lock isn’t particularly strong to begin with. I’ll just leave the key in it (This is the only lock for which I had a spare key) (I’d tried to have dups made of the others, but couldn’t) and that way I can’t lose it. And I’ll just use the combo lock to secure it. The mask? This is my sweet husband’s way of saying “I Love You”. He went for a walk last night before I got home from work, and while he was out he bought this for me to use on my bike ride. Effective way to minimize the amount of pollution going into my lungs. Welcome to Beijing!!
