***PROPOSAL VIDEO***warning this is a long post, but worth the read Mike had planned to propose to me in a teaching last Saturday night, although I knew it was coming sometime soon, I had thought the special day he said we were going to have the next day was going to be it. A few hours before the Commissioners (ask me if you want to learn more:)) our friend Amy texted the leaders saying she had a vision (Mike did not plan this, clearly lol) from the Lord that the whole group should wash each others feet that night like Jesus did with the disciples, symbolizing the serving of one another. If you know me you know I hate feet and most definitely didnt want anyone washing mine, so I was uncomfortable. Mike pulled me to the side beforehand and told me he had talked to Amy and they decided that since they wanted to have a demonstration first and since I was uncomfortable, that Mike could wash mine in front of everyone while talking about the story in the Bible. He had said it in a way that all I could think of was that he saved me and I was relieved. Lol. I didnt think he would propose then, with all those people around. I started wondering during the foot washing if it could really happen .. but still wasnt sure. Now let me just tell you the significance in all of this. As you watch the video, if you dont know the Bible story, I would encourage you to read it (John 13). Mike explains it a little bit. During my life I had a hard time with some sinful patterns and always felt like I wasnt good enough and pretty worthless at times. Through the Lords mercy and grace, He saved me from that life and those lies and has continually helped me in understanding my value, in Him. I think in some ways I still felt/feel a little unworthy of love from others. This proposal wouldnt have ever been something I would have thought that I wanted (I dont like feet) and Mike didnt plan it. This is important guys, and I have seen this throughout our entire relationship, the Lord knows me better than i know myself, He set it up! I never imagined I would be proposed to by such a humbling act of service that a man wanted to honor me in such a way. He took the lower position to serve me out of love. I deserve to be honored, I am a woman of God, I am loved. These are things the Lord wanted me to know and to see through this so he made it happen.. Mike didnt plan this, it was literally put in his path. I am so blessed and in awe of the Lords goodness. Michael Estill thank you so much for being the man you are and choosing me. I couldnt be happier to learn with you more of taking the lower position to serve each other by Christs example. :) so happy! *Men, take notes*
