PROTESTING DEFORESTATION The tree tale (Save trees, save yourself) O harshest devil from hell, You murder your own mother and suck her blood? The same tree that stood tall, When in her branches Your childhood you spent, You cut her in half and crush every flower bud? The orchids that sang your love story, When as a teen you had just learnt to love, Your soul dancing with the Thousand flocking birds Playing merrily hide and seek In the green hanging flora above, Now for your selfish needs, With one thundering fatal thrust You want to kill them all? Helpless before the ruthless, The flourishing fauna now left homeless, The jungles dying faster than they ever grew, Knowingly your own brothers and kin, Alas, you punish them with no mercy.. Never thinking twice you massacre them too? Wake up now, When shall you stop acting as if only you never knew That left with a dead planet without trees, Nothing but poison shall we breathe to fill our lungs… Flowing freely in our blood each remaining days a few! Before it’s all too late, Cant we for a change sow a few seeds for our tomorrow anew? ©Swapnajyoti Bordoloi
