PSA: To my fellow independent SERVICE providers (i.e., MUAs, hairstylists, personal trainers, etc), what we do is a SERVICE... and a LUXURY service with OPTIONS, at that. That means our clients (yes, mine AND yours) dont absolutely HAVE to have what we offer. It also means they can go elsewhere and get their needs met, whether it be at the same caliber as you would provide, better or what you may perceive as worse. So... PROFESSIONALISM is like the biblical description of the tongue; it is DEATH and/or LIFE to your craft. In many cases, it will take you further than your skill may warrant. Enough unprofessional encounters, and you will KILL your business. Dont clown your clients if you want to keep them. Dont disrespect their time by being late, holding entire conversations on your phone while working with them, or just not being prepared to give them what theyve requested and paid for. RESPECT YOURSELF, YOUR CRAFT & YOUR REPUTATION by ALWAYS putting your best foot forward and wearing your professional hat when it comes to client-interaction. Disputes can be settled in other ways besides loud talking, neck rolling, finger pointing, and (God help us) throwing hands. Misunderstandings can be talked through and worked out. And concessions can be made to preserve relationships. That ones free, folks...
