PSC Alumnus Kevin Bennear to Perform at Upcoming Super Bowl Potomac State Alumnus MSgt Kevin Bennear will participate in the upcoming Super Bowl, Feb. 2, preshow as one of the Marine Band’s vocalists backing up Opera Singer Renee Fleming during the National Anthem as part of a joint service chorus. Tune in on Super Bowl Sunday to hear the Marine Band’s vocalists, MSgt Kevin Bennear and GySgt Sara Dell’Omo, back up Renée Fleming during the National Anthem as a part of a joint service chorus. Look for the red uniforms! lat.ms/1fxecH3 Bennear is a 1992 graduate of Potomac State and returned to the campus in 2007 to receive the “Young Alumni Award.” He earned his bachelor’s degree from WVU and his master’s degree from the University of Tennessee. Bennear joined “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band as baritone vocalist and concert moderator in 2000. In this capacity, Bennear has sang for U.S. Presidents, is a regular performer at White House State Dinners and performs for dignitaries and heads of state from around the world. He has appeared as a soloist along with Toby Keith and Larry Gatlin, on a PBS national production entitled “In Performance at the White House”, and was the featured soloist on Nightline’s production featuring “The President’s Own”. Bennear’s most memorable performing moment is “Singing the National Anthem on September 11th 2002, one year following the attack on America, as President Bush unfurled the flag over the restored Pentagon.”
