PTIs Press Release on Electricity Bills Inflation Central Information Secretary PTI, Shireen Mazari today said that the PTI position against illegally inflated electricity bills has been vindicated yet again by the findings of the PMs own Inspection Commission asd reported in the press today (Friday)! The Commission has found that the DISCOs new electricity metres which have replaced the old ones not only run 30-35 percent faster but the speed can be adjusted by the DISCOs according to their needs. Mazari said that this was sheer robbery and in tandem with over billing, was a criminal offence against the consumers by the government. She demanded that the government return all the looted consumers money through illegally inflated electricity bills and that the elec metres be rectified and independently inspected to ensure this sort of crime by the govt does not happen again.
