PUBLIC SERVANTS TO GET REMAINING 1.5 PERCENT SALARY INCREASE THIS INDEPENDENCE! Monday August 19, 2013 (2:55PM) Argyle, St. Vincent -- VN -- Public servants here in St. Vincent & the Grenadines might be getting the remaining 1.5 percent salary increase promised to them since January 2011. This is according to Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, while speaking yesterday on WEFM’s issue at Hand Program, broadcast from the Airport site at Argyle. Gonsalves said he is "really determined to give the remaining 1.5 percent to all public servants by independence". The first payment of 1.5 percent salary increase for public servants, retroactive from 2011, was paid to Public Servants in December last year. Due to the Government’s fiscal situation at that time, however, Prime Minister Gonsalves had asked public servants to be patient for the remaining 1.5 percent promised.
