PUG O RAMA is NOVEMBER 8th! (Click Link below for all the details and a downloadable flyer) As you may know Southern Nevada Pug Rescue is always one call away from having to close down due to financial hardship. You may wonder why that is. One of the reason’s is we have never been a rescue that asks for plea money BEFORE taking in a dog. We always take in a dog and then ask for help and in most cases, we never come close to raising what we need for that dog. Another reason is that in summer months we are unable to have events and so we raise no money, very few dogs get adopted and a lot of dogs come in. Recently we have had several bonded pairs, special needs, and seniors come in. In addition to so many pugs in the shelter needing rescue. SNPR also has hospice pugs who we have financially committed to caring for as long as they are with SNPR. Because we are barely getting by taking care of the pugs in rescue and our financial responsibility to our vet, we are faced with making some tough decisions regarding Pug-O-Rama while still being responsible to those pugs we have in rescue today, and ones who will need us tomorrow. We recently held an auction that raised enough money to pay half of our vet bill. And that bill was before Rascal, Cookie, and Honey Bun came in. Pug-O-Rama is our biggest fundraiser of the year. We normally raise enough money at the event to cover a quarter of our annual vet bills. If we didn’t have Pug-O-Rama, it would be devastating for SNPR. As beneficial as Pug-O-Rama is to us, it is also quite costly. Because every penny raised this summer has had to go toward our ever growing vet bill, we do not have the funds we need to put on an event like Pug-O-Rama. We have reserved the park and intend on hosting the event, however we sincerely need help to make this a successful day. Here Is How You Can Help: By sponsoring a portion of Pug-O-Rama, it would help us make the event as special as it has been in years prior without affecting the immediate care of any pugs needing to enter rescue. Below is a list of costs needed to proceed with the planning of the event. Pug-O-Rama Expenses · Park Rental = $300.00 · Park Insurance = $500.00 · Water and supplies = $400.00 · Annual T-Shirt purchase for sale = $1,000.00 · Truck Rental = $200.00 · Postage and printing mailer = $400.00 We also need the following items to make the day a success. If you have any of these items and could donate them, we would be grateful. · Banners · Stamps · Misc. pug items and donations for gift baskets!! (gift certificates, prizes, etc.) (without the gift basket opportunities, we would make half what we normally make at this event) · Water, soda, juice, snacks, baked goods, etc. · Give-away’s for the contests, games, etc. · Dog toys! Dog beds! Anyone who makes a monetary donation or donates an item listed above will be featured on our web site as a Pug-O-Rama Sponsor.
