PUMAS MATCHDAY!!!! USL PDL National Semifinals Kitsap Pumas S.C. (11-1-4) vs Ocala Stampede (11-1-4) today Friday August 1st at 2pm Pacific (5pm Eastern) at Ultimate Soccer Arenas, Pontiac Michigan hosted by Michigan Bucks. Western Conference Champion Kitsap Pumas from the Northwest Division face the Southern Conference Champion Ocala Stampede from the Southeast Division. The Stampede defeated defending PDL Champion Austin Aztex 2-0 in the Southern Conference Finals in Austin last weekend on goals by All-Conference selections MF Karamba Janneh and Ilija Ilic while the defense led by All-conference defender Ben Knight kept the Aztex from repeating as champions. Ocala defeated Laredo Heat in the Southern Conference Semifinals 5-3 in PKs after ending 120 minutes tied at 1-1. Ilic scored 9 goals on the season, while Janneh added 4 goals and forward Lewis Hilton scored 4 goals and 6 assists. The Pumas are seeking their second PDL Championship after and exciting weekend defeating host FC Tucson in the Western Conference Finals by scoring 3 goals against All-PDL keeper Billy Thompson as All-PDL Defender Cory Keitz scored his first goal of the season in the 7th minute to set the tone of the match early. Pumas added 2 more goals by Miguel Gonzalez (his 7th of the season) while Justin Ortinau added his first of the season to seal the win. The Pumas overcame an early 2-0 deficit to Ventura county Fusion in the Semifinals as the scored at the end of the first half to get within a goal and Chuy Sanchez scored in the 83rd minute to pull the Pumas even at 2-2. Septi Danciu scored in the 98th to put the Pumas up 3-1 then Fusion scored in stoppage time at 120+ to send their match into PKs as well. Pumas keeper made 2 saves and forced a shot high as the Pumas won the shootout 3-1 to advanced to face Tucson. Host Michigan Bucks will face top-seeded Jersey Express Soccer in the other Semifinal match at 4:30pm Pacific (7:30pm Eastern). The Finals will be Sunday August 3rd at 1pm Eastern (10 am Pacific).
