PUTTING STATE FIRST BEFORE PERSONAL GAINS -we must disagree to agree on the best and most popular aspirant to be our governor delta state 2015! On the 11th of November 2014, two memorable event took place in the federal capital city of Abuja. Firstly,His Excellency Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan at the eagle square made his historic declaration to run for a second term in office as president under the umbrella of the PDP, and the second event that took place was a convergence of PDP governorship aspirants from Delta state who collectively registered their rejection of any imposition of candidate in Delta state general elections. Permit me to zero in on the latter issue of imposition as it directly affects us all in Delta state. At the meeting held in Abuja latter that evening at the residence of Chief E. K Clark and attended by governorship aspirants 2015 under PDP in Delta state such as : 1. Barr. Ovie Omo-agege. 2. Olorogun K. Gbagi. 3. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu. 4. Prof Sylvester Monye. 5. Chief David Edevbe. 6. Distinguish Sen. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa. 7. Rt. HON. Prince Sam Obi. 8. Chief Godswill Obielum. 9. Chief Peter Okocha. 10. Chief Clement Ofuani. 11. Dame Oduehi. 12. Chief Opone and 13. Amb. Oyibode amongst others. The meeting rose up with a 7-point communiqué to review the state of affairs of the PDP Delta State with regards to the governorship elections 2015. Considering the caliber of PDP members in attandance at the said meeting and who are calling for a review of this ugly development of imposition, the good people of Delta state and loyal party members wish to join faith with this communiqué, in calling the PDP NWC and Mr. President to beam their attention to the cry of these true leaders of PDP in Delta state as they express the heart and minds of the people against any form of imposition by deliberate attempt to deviate against normalcy, by omission or by an attempt at a prudent mistake. In the presence of a formidable opposition party in delta state and Nigeria in general, it becomes espidient that the party must be under the umbrella as one indevisible family as weve enjoyed without fear or favour and genuine attempt to quell grievances must be meted with presidential fiat! We sincerely have huge confidence in the NWC of the PDP and most specially the leadership of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as a transformation leader above board and driven by the provisions of the constitution of the PDP. We take solace in this confidence we repose in the parties leadership and believe beyond reasonable doubt that this issue will recieve prompt attention in the clear and present absence of time. We will not fail to call the attention of our amiable Governor Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan who in all modesty has pilotted the affairs of governance in Delta state in a manner of utmost regard for the party elements and structures. 2015 demands the statesman in Governor Uduaghan to listen to the yearnings of his fellow compatriots who have seen to his administrations succesful press on many fronts and who have been the face of the PDP and the labourer in the parties vineyard with you all these years and should enjoy your total confidance. Although you are at liberty to have your take Your Excellency, but since there is no I in TEAM, this is the time you all have to work as one, disagree to agree and most importantly, choose from amongst you the very best to take over the mantle of leadership from your humble self as you venture to the Senate. As we gracefully watch your senatorial bid gather momentum, we see an equal and opposite lose of steam towards 2015 governorship as a party. Your Excellency Sir, you are directing at all times but we beg you to graciously direct along lines of popular opinion as regards 2015. To the gallant PDP leaders who have served this great state through the instrumentality of the PDP, we salute your resolute stands against any undemocratic stands even if it puts you at daggers drawn with your friend Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan. We appreciate your courage to dear to differ at the expense of giving Delta state anything less than she deserves 2015. That you could all shelve your differences and come together to put the interest of state first, God will reward each and every one of you. We urge you never to relent in your fight for good governance under the stewardship of a most popular candidate and the good Lord who rules in the affairs of men will crown all efforts with a worthy crown.
