~PaL~ Excerpt from Dallas News This is just crazy!! Over a kilo in his stomach!! The ends that people go to for this drug!! MADNESS!!! Walter Lippmann-Avilez made his stomach and intestinal tract a drug smuggling tool, authorities say. He swallowed 70 pellets of heroin in Guatemala throughout the day last Friday. Each one was worth $75 to him if was able to deliver them to New York, he told U.S. customs officials. But his plan unraveled the next day when suspicious customs agents had him submit to an X-ray after he arrived at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport from Mexico City. Shortly afterward, customs agents monitored his bowel movements as Lippmann-Avilez passed all 70 pellets of heroin weighing a total of more than 1,000 grams, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He was charged with possessing with the intent to distribute more than 100 grams of a substance containing heroin, according to ICE. Lippmann-Avilez already was traveling under a burden. After arriving in Dallas, he became nervous when customs agents asked him about his brother, Christopher Lippmann-Avilez, who was arrested in California in April on a charge of trying to smuggle heroin into the U.S. Walter Lippmann-Avilez told agents he was coming to the U.S. to buy two vehicles to export to Guatemala. But he had just $1,200 on him, federal authorities said. He later admitted to the smuggling scheme, telling agents he agreed to it so a “drug lord would stop harassing his family,” a federal complaint said. He also admitted that his brother had been arrested trying to smuggle 90 heroin pellets, the complaint said. Lippmann-Avilez was taken to Baylor Medical Center in Grapevine on Saturday night where, under close supervision, he produced the evidence. By Monday afternoon, the final pellet was out and Lippmann-Avilez was in jail.
