Pacific Island women are more likely to die from breast cancer than other ethnic groups in NZ. Their five year survival rate is 79% compared to 87% for NZ European women*. The reasons behind this are complex but often these women present too late with breast cancer symptoms making effective treatment difficult. “Faith, Love and Hope” is a 12 minute video featuring Pacific Island women with a united goal; to encourage women to go for breast screening by promoting the importance of early detection.
