Packing up today to leave tomorrow. I am 15 hours ahead of - TopicsExpress

Packing up today to leave tomorrow. I am 15 hours ahead of Louisiana so it is Friday morning here. It is sorta bitter sweet for me because I have missed my family, friends and tennis but nothing else from Louisiana. I read in the news where an eleven year old was nearly abducted a block from our home in Baton Rouge and that just makes me want to pack up all my grandchildren and move to Japan with them. It is a very safe social environment here. I see young children boarding trains all by themselves. Im still amazed at how gracious, respectful, quiet and kind the Japanese people are. The weather here is about like it is at home only maybe not as humid. It is so wonderful when you purchase anything here and you are treated like you actually matter. At home I dont even do fast food places because I hate being treated like a piece of trash (besides I dont eat fast food) and I would not put it passed any of those fast food workers to spit in my food in Louisiana. All Japanese people act like they enjoy their jobs and they are grateful for your business, even from people that are cleaning the bathrooms. Big change of attitudes compared to our entitlement nation. We had supper with one of the men Bill is working with the other night and he said he has learned to be extremely careful about assigning jobs to the Japanese workers at the end of the day. He said in America if he assigned a job at the end of the day his American employees would begin taking care of it the next day, but the Japanese workers will actually start working on an assignment as soon as they get it and they will work through the night to get it done.
