Pakistan 1st National track cycling championship(Mens) 2014 Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) won the 1st National Track Cycling Championship by scoring 123 points here at the Cycling Velodrome on Thursday. Pakistan Army team bagged second position by scoring 117 points whereas Wapda’s contingent stood third by scoring 114 points. Wapda’s paddler Sabir was adjudged as the fastest cyclist of the championship and was also conferred with National Champion Trophy, who gained points by bagging gold medals. PCF secretary Syed Azhar Ali Shah welcomed the participants at the closing ceremony and termed the competition as successful. He thanked SSGC for extending their complete support and termed them as exemplary hosts who managed the proceeding through flawless management.–Staff Reporter “This is for the first time in the history of Pakistan track cycling championship that the championship was consisted of seven events.” The championship was participated by all the affiliated units of PCF i.e. Army, Wapda, SSGC, HEC, Punjab, Sindh, KP, Balochistan, FATA and Islamabad. The PCF organised the championship in collaboration with SSGC. The winners and runners-up trophies were presented by the chief guest SSGC Sr General Manager Maj (r) M Akhtar, who is also the president of Company’s Sports Board in a colourful closing ceremony.
