Palestinian activists in Gaza have been accused of stage-managing events and faking casualties in order to manipulate public opinion via the media. A video report from Gaza broadcast by the BBC on day two of Operation Pillar of Defense shows a seriously injured man being carried to safety, only for the same man to appear moments later uninjured. Palestinian groups have repeatedly been accused of staging events for the benefit of the international media, leading some critics to label the practice Pallywood. In another example of media deceptions, Gaza militants have also been exposed for tweeting a old photo of a wounded Syrian child and claiming it was a Gaza victim of Israeli airstrikes
