Palestinian artist Lyad Sabah presented clay sculptures of the victims of Al-Shejaya district to commemorate the huge death toll following the ISRAHELLI military bombardment of Gaza strip that took place during the latest conflict. Operation Protective Edge began on July the 8th 2014 in which, over 2,100 Palestinians were killed, the vast majority of which, according to the UN were civilians - including 513 children 269 women. Al-Shejaya district, one of Gazas poorest and most crowded neighbourhood, faced especially heavy bombing during the onslaught - leaving much of the area in ruins.
